Sick day

Saturday, February 27, 2010

So I guess one of the drawbacks of watching kids all day is catching their germs!  They were sick all week and I woke up Friday morning and realized that all my attempts to NOT get sick had failed miserably.  I don't think I have been sick since I had the flu in 2006.  I never took a sick day in the 2.5 years at my last job, even though Steven got sick about twice a year.  I guess all that bragging I did last weekend about never getting sick really came back to bite me in the butt!  I'm never opening my big mouth about it again.

So, today, I woke up around 8:30 because I realized there was no way I was going to get back to sleep, what with not being able to breathe and all.  I think I woke up approximately every 2 hours last night and Steven said I was snoring (I never snore).  Sleep is important to me, so something as stupid as having a cold interfering with my REM cycles really upsets me!  I've been doped up on cold meds, watching season 1 of Heroes on Netflix all day.  That's one of those shows that I always wanted to watch but it interfered with one of my other shows, so I never got to.  So far, I've watched 9 episodes and it's pretty good!  I think I've put my sick day to pretty good use.  I just hope I wake up tomorrow feeling (at least somewhat) better.

Also, in case you aren't aware, Netflix is AWESOME.  We can stream Netflix movies & series on our TV through our blu-ray player, or we can watch them online, plus we get hard copy blu-rays in the mail!  All for $8.99/month!!  It so totally pays for itself.  We were watching about 1 movie a week through DirectTV OnDemand, for $5.99 each (for HD, non-HD is still $4.99!).  Anywho, there's my sales pitch for the day.
