Rainy Monday

It's a rainy Monday here in Ohio.  I love rainy days.  There's nothing more cozy than being inside on a rainy day.  I haven't blogged in a while, mostly because I haven't had anything interesting to write about (and I've been too lazy to transfer any pics from my camera to my computer).  But here ya go.

When I was home a couple weekends ago, me, Crystal, Emily & Nellie went out for brunch to celebrate Crystal's birthday!  There's nothing like Cracker Barrel's pancakes.

While we were home, I took the opportunity to fill the china cabinet we got from my grandmother's house.  Our wedding china is finally on display and not in boxes in the closet!  Woo hoo!

Isn't it GORgeous?

In other news, Steven and I ate at Olive Garden Saturday night.  I hadn't been there in a while and I really felt like some pasta.  So we waited 40 minutes for a table, then ate all of our minestrone soup and breadsticks, so that when we got our food, we were kind of already full and ended up taking most of it home.  It was even better the next day, though!  Our waitress brought our check and Steven gave her his credit card.  We sat there for at least 10 minutes waiting for her to bring the credit card back.  I saw her a couple of times on the other side of the restaurant bringing people their food, and we were starting to get pretty impatient.  Well, when the manager came around asking us how our service was, Steven told him that it was good except we've been waiting forever to get the credit card back.  A minute later, our waitress came over and apologized profusely, saying she thought she had already given it to us and it had been in her pocket the whole time.  She was kind of already on my bad list because when I was ordering my chicken alfredo with penne instead of fettucini, she asked me where I was from (hinting that I didn't sound like I was from around these parts), and I told her North Carolina, and she nodded, as if saying "Ahh, that explains it."  But apparently her family lives in NC so I don't think she meant it in a bad way, but still.  No, I'm not from Ohio, I call Pepsi a "soft drink", not "pop".  Actually, I just call it Pepsi.  Well, when we were getting up to leave, the manager came and gave us a $10 gift card for our troubles.  On the way out, I told Steven I'd wait 15 minutes for the credit card every time if it meant I got a free $10!  At least we got something out of it...

Steven is heading back to NC on Friday (I have to get up at the crack of dawn to drive him to the airport... totally not excited about that), and he's coming back Monday morning.  So that means I have to spend the whole entire weekend by myself.  I will probably finish season 3 of Heroes that I've been watching on Netflix (that show is soo good!), clean the bathrooms (this always seems to get put off for some reason.  I totally intended to do that this weekend, but it never seemed to happen.), and hopefully not get bored.  But I have Maggie and Abbie to keep me company!

Ahh, it's so bright in here!
