The crafty bug has hit...

Steven is heading to NC on Friday because he has some meetings in Hickory next week.  I tried (and failed, obvs) to talk him into leaving Sunday night so I wouldn't have to spend all weekend being lonely, but he wanted to be home by Saturday so he could spend some time on our boat (and look into buying a bus.  Don't ask).  I'm not sure why, but I have this aversion to sitting still.  I feel like if I'm in one spot for too long, my arms and legs will fall off.  So, my weekends usually go like this:  Wake up, watch 30 mins of TV until my eyes are fully adjusted to the world, make breakfast, clean the bathrooms, dust, vacuum, shower, think of somewhere to go, bug Steven to take a shower and get dressed, go out, come home, watch a movie, fall asleep watching said movie, yell at Steven when he tries to get me to go to bed, finally give in, repeat.  When Steven is out of town, my routine gets thrown all out of whack because I don't have anyone to bug to go do something with me.  But I'm usually more productive because I have to find things to occupy my time.  This usually entails crafting.  Yippee!  It's so hard for me to find the time or inspiration to do crafty things, even though I love it.

I think I'm going to spend this weekend doing a project.  I haven't decided what yet, but I'm sure to find something.  It's hard to decorate the way I want to because we're in a temporary situation so anything I do just has to be undone when we move out (painting, nail holes, etc).  So I have to limit myself to projects that can be taken with us when we leave and cause no damage to our town home.  I've spent the last two days going through The Pleated Poppy's archives looking at all of her fun projects and it has gotten me inspired, although my inspiration isn't geared toward anything specific, which could be a problem.  I'm thinking about doing a series of paintings, each one a 5" x 5" square, 4 total, to be hung in a square when completed.  Abstract, obviously, because I am no artist.  I've been thinking about doing this for a while because I have the perfect spot for them.  We shall see how they turn out.  Cross your fingers!
