Weekend consumerism & Eclipse

Steven and I went to the Aurora Farms Premium Outlets yesterday.  In addition to 5 new shirts, all bought at incredible prices (look for them in my WIWW post this week and next), I got these Crocs:

They're on sale on this web site for $39.95, but I got them at the Crocs Outlet for $15!  Score!

Please note, I have always hated Crocs since I first started seeing people wear them in college.  I thought they were the ugliest shoes ever invented.  Well, yesterday was the first time I actually put a pair on my feet, and oh my gosh, these were sooo comfortable!  These will be really good winter shoes, because they will keep my feet warm and all the snow salt residue will wipe right off!  When worn with jeans, the fur detail won't show and they'll just look like normal brown clogs.  The fur will be my little secret.  I still don't see myself ever buying a pair of the "classic" Crocs, but they do have some cute flats and wedges now too!

I also indulged myself a little on Etsy.  I don't know why, but for the past few months, I have had this weird obsession with owls.  Anything that has an owl on it, I instantly want.  Maybe it's because my grandfather collected owls and I got a few of them when my Nana passed away last November?  His owls aren't that cute though (there's really only one that I like), so I don't know if that's it or not.

I bought these awesome earrings from LoriennaDesigns for $3.50 (plus $3 shipping)!

I got this adorable adjustable owl ring from Purple Treasures for $5 (plus $1 shipping)!

We went to see Eclipse today.  It was pretty good (although corny at some parts), but what really got on my nerves were the Twi-hard moms sitting across from us making gushing noises whenever Taylor Lautner came on the screen.  And they were laughing at random parts of the movie like they were sharing some weird inside joke.  It was annoying.  Also, what really gets on our nerves is when people clap at movies.  Seriously, there is no director, producer, star, etc. around to hear your applause.  Spare us, it's just weird.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!  I'm looking forward to another short week this week, because Steven and I are taking off Thursday night to head to Chicago for a long weekend of Cubs games and Chicagoland fun.

  1. I have yet to give in to Crocs and I believe I'm one of the few. Remember when we talked Emily out of getting crocs in college? :)
