Busy weekend, October, and Memaw

Friday, August 6, 2010

We have a busy weekend ahead of us with Steven's dad and uncle, who are in town until Monday.  Tonight, we're going to eat at Dave & Buster's, which I have been wanting to try ever since we moved up here.  Tomorrow brings putt-putt and an Indians game.  Aaaaaand Sunday, we're going to the Ohio State Fair in Columbus!  And guess what, it's all free!  Actually, we will have to pay for our dinner at D&B, and I have a half-off coupon for the putt-putt place, but the tickets to the Indians game and the State Fair were all courtesy of ShurTech Brands!  Steven has the hook up for all the free tickets.

I can't believe the first week of August is already over.  Where did the summer go?  As much as I'm ready for fall, this year is just going by way too fast.  Only 54 more days until my favorite month of the year - October!  I just love everything about October.  The chilly days, the fall decor, and of course, Halloween!  Not to mention that I consider it the start of the Holiday season.  October brings only good things with it and I can't wait.  I love fall.

Also, please send up a prayer for my grandmother, who is in the hospital with pneumonia.  They had to put her on a ventilator a couple of days ago, hoping that will allow her lungs to heal, but it's never good when they have to do that.  The doctors are also running some tests to see if there is anything else wrong besides the pneumonia.  I just hope she keeps fighting and gets better soon.  Well as I was writing this, I got a text from my aunt that said she had two blood clots go to her brain, causing a stroke, but that they are going to try to take her off the ventilator today.  Not sure what this all means, but I just know I don't want to lose both my grandmothers in a 9-month span.  Nana passed away last November and I still think about her every day.  Not to mention there are about a million things I encounter every day that remind me of Sharon, my mother-in-law.  I don't have room enough in my brain to mourn three people.

On a lighter note, I hope you all have a great weekend and just keep Memaw (Carolyn) in your prayers.
