Go Pink! October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

As most of you probably know, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  My mother-in-law lost her year-long battle with breast cancer this past May (5 months and 4 days ago to be exact).  There are so many companies supporting BCA Month that I wanted to take this opportunity to point out a few.

100% of the net proceeds from sales of this tie ($13.75) go to Susan G. Komen For the Cure.

A portion of the proceeds from these socks will support the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund and the Weill Cornell Breast Center of the Iris Cantor Women's Health Center at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
Aren't they cute?  I'm a sucker for socks.

20% of the purchase price of this tunic will be donated to Susan G. Komen For the Cure.
I love this!  How cute would this be as a bathing suit cover-up?  Maybe a little late for that this year, but it's never too early to start stocking up for next summer!

3% of the proceeds go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
I think I need a cute little pink coffee maker.  How about you?

50% of the proceeds from sales of this bag will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
How cute is this?  It looks like just the perfect size.

10% of the proceeds benefit cancer care and prevention throughout the year.
I love hats.  I think I need this one for my collection.

$10 from each sale helps support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
This moisturizer comes with a pink ribbon keychain too!

These are just a couple products that I came across in my searching.  There are SO many companies and initiatives taking part in BCA Month that you can find a pink version of just about anything.  So, if you get the chance, go pink!  And don't forget... early detection is key, so please please please do self-exams and get regular check-ups.

Disclaimer:  None of these companies paid me to mention their products.  I just believe in the cause and want to do any little thing I can do to promote Breast Cancer Awareness.  Plus - all of these things are cute!  It's just a bonus that they support a good cause.
