TGIF!

Happy Friday y'all.  I'm a tad under the weather today (yes, again).  I guess that's what I get for watching three germy kids all day, no matter how often I wash my hands and use hand sanitizer.  I was asleep by 9:30 last night and got to sleep in a little this morning because they need me to stay late today, so I think I got 9 1/2 hours of sleep last night.  I actually felt rested this morning, but still sore throaty and achy feeling.  Yuck.  I'm hoping this passes before my trip to Florida next week!  I'm going with the family I work for just to be another set of hands, and it will not be fun if I'm sick.  But I'm looking forward to temps in the mid-80s and spending time on the beach and in the pool.  I hope the other beach-goers don't mind my blindingly white legs as I think any hint of a tan I got over the summer has faded now.  I prefer white legs to cancer, don't you?  So we're leaving Tuesday morning and coming back on Sunday, then I leave Monday morning for NYC!  OMG, I'm so excited about traipsing around New York with my favorite aunt (Am I allowed to say that?  Sorry to my other aunts who may be reading this!  Well, she helped raise me so I think she gets favorite aunt status.)  Anywho, we're going to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, ice skate at Rockefeller Center, maybe go to a museum or two, see Promises, Promises (I love Kristin Chenoweth, don't you?!), and end our trip with the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  Sounds like the makings for a most memorable trip to me.  Now to figure out what to pack.  I'm planning on packing for both trips this weekend so I don't have to worry about packing for NYC when I get back from Florida Sunday night.  I don't think my wardrobe will overlap... shorts and sundresses for Florida, jeans, boots and sweaters for NYC.  I'm a perpetual overpacker, plus I have needy hair (which requires a lot of products and appliances), so packing takes me a long time.  Mostly because I think I need an outfit for every possible circumstance that may arise, and then I usually end up not wearing half the things in my suitcase.  I'm going to try not to do that this time, but you just never know when you're going to need that black pencil skirt and pair of heels.

Steven is heading to Columbus to see the Ohio State game with some co-workers tomorrow, so he will be gone all day, which means... I get to spend the whole day working on Christmas presents and our Christmas cards!  In order to save some money this holiday season, I'm making gifts for all of my cousins.  But I think homemade gifts mean a lot more, don't you?  I spent last weekend running back and forth to Michael's and JoAnn using coupons to acquire all the materials.  I also have an order for some pop art canvases that I need to work on.  So tomorrow should be a pretty busy day, with doing all that and packing too.  Oh yeah, and I have to spray paint a lawn Santa (don't ask).

Hope you all have a happy weekend!  Am I the only one listening to the Christmas music station on the way home from work already?  I can't help it!
