Merry Christmas to All, and to All a Good Night!

Saturday, December 25, 2010

I hope all of you out there in Blogland have had a very Merry Christmas!  Can you believe that we saw SNOW today here in the south?  Not just a couple of flurries, but inches of snow!  Yes, you heard me right, we had a WHITE CHRISTMAS!  It was amazingly lovely.  That is, until Steven had to go outside and knock the snow off the satellite dish so we could watch TV and the whole pile fell on his head.  Too bad I don't have a picture of that!

The other night, my college roomies came over for our annual cookie-baking festival.  We usually just do sugar cookie cut-outs and decorate them, but I thought it would be fun this year to do something different, so we all picked a recipe and baked FOUR different cookies.  There was flour everywhere, but they all turned out yummy.

Of course we have to take our annual Christmas picture.  Hmm, I should post the ones from over the years.  That would be hilarious, but they would probably kill me.  Ha!

Each of us got a huge plate of cookies.  Mine are the big oatmeal- raisin-applesauce cookies on top (with a maple syrup/powdered sugar glaze - recipe here).  There's also jam kolaches, oatmeal chocolate chip, and... hmm... didn't catch the name of the little round ones.

Now, onto Christmas.  Without further ado, the best Christmas gift ever...

A Cricut Imagine!  I have the best hubby.  Now I get to spend next week setting it up and figuring out what all it can do.  So excited!

Steven's big gift - a new titanium wedding band.

I got my mom a charcoal gray peacoat for Christmas, and it was such a good deal that I had to get one for me too!

My brother Jamey, me, and Steven all sporting our new coats.  I got Jamey's at AE (where else?), and mine and Steven's are from The North Face.  Apparently I have a thing for coats because our coat closet has no room for guest coats, so they end up on the bed.  Is that bad?

Proof of our white Christmas!  This is the scene we came home to tonight.  I can just see this picture on the front of some random Christmas card... so picturesque!

Our poor Leland Cypresses are all weighed down from the snow.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas spent with family and friends.

P.S. Only 10 days 'til my birthday!
