Disney Days: Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios

Friday, June 10, 2011

We started off full day #2 at Animal Kingdom.  It was scorching hot right from the get-go.

Gunner, Steven and Ani cooling off by the mist fan.

We all rode Expedition Everest once, but after that Gunner was done with it so he and Aunt Pam waited while the rest of the group rode it a couple more times.  It's just so much fun!

Gunner got to go up on stage during Flights of Wonder and compete in a math contest with a bird.  The answer was always four.

Then, can you believe it but they picked ME to go on stage while a bird flew at my head.  I captured this picture.

This was the bird in question.

This little fella asked me more questions than I have ever been asked in my whole life.  He's a curious one.

Sometime while at Animal Kingdom I injured my knee.  Not exactly sure how it happened, although I think it has something to do with Gunner running into me one time, but good grief, when did my joints become so fragile?!  It didn't hurt at the time, but boy has it hurt every minute since.  I limped around the parks for the next two days and still have not fully recovered, although it feels somewhat better.  If it doesn't heal itself soon, I guess I'm going to have to see a doctor... blah!  But on the upside, I was offered a seat on the shuttle when people saw my ace bandaged knee.

Anywho, after Animal Kingdom, we headed back to the hotel for a little R&R before dinner.

No, we didn't plan on our outfits matching, but I had to take a picture of the coinky-dink.

After dinner at the hotel, we went to Hollywood Studios to see Fantasmic!

Gunner was the navigator.

Mmm, cotton candy.

Finally Fantasmic started, but the only decent, non-blurry photo I got was this one.

I love Steamboat Willie.

The next day, we headed back to Hollywood Studios, and there was just so much to do that I didn't take many pictures.

The gang at The American Idol Experience.  We saw the finale show and it was so obvious who the "producers" wanted to win.  It was definitely rigged.  Oh well, it was still a good show!

We rode Toy Story Mania during Extra Magic Hours.

Up next: Epcot!
