31 Days of Anti-Laziness: My DVR

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

All of this...

...has really hindered my TV watching.  My DVR is almost at capacity and I'm feverishly trying to catch up.  I watch a lot more shows than my hubs, so finding the time to watch those is nearly impossible because he only wants to watch shows that we both agree on.  If I do sneak and watch Grey's Anatomy while he's in the room, he gets sucked into it but he has no idea what's going on so he asks me question after question until I shout YOU DON'T WATCH THIS SHOW SO DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!  So, my anti-laziness last night was trying to get my DVR down to a level where I don't have to worry about it deleting shows for lack of space.  Could I consider that anti-laziness?  Maybe it's laziness, but whatever it is, it was necessary.

I know you're all just dying to see my DVR queue.

Anyone watching the new season of Two and a Half Men?  I've never watched it before, but I'm enjoying Ashton.  Of course there's How I Met Your Mother (we record all the reruns too, although I've seen most of them now).  There's no way I could miss Kim Kardashian's wedding extravaganza. Nate and Martha are just givens.

Sister Wives just sucks me in because I just don't get the whole polygamy thing, but I still love that family.  The Amazing Race is the best reality show eva and would be the only one I would ever apply for.  Actually, I've already filled out the application, but am hesitant to submit it.  Steven and I would be one of those couples that constantly yells at each other, but that means that they would probably pick us because we'd make good TV.  I only record The Good Wife because it comes on after Amazing Race and CBS is always running late because of football games.  Home by Novogratz is just good.

The Secret Circle is a new show on The CW, but I haven't watched a single episode yet.  Same goes for Charlie's Angels.  Survivor = 2nd best reality show ever.  The Middle is hilarious and comes in a close second to How I Met Your Mother.

I love 90210, although so far this season is weird.  Haven't watched any of The Playboy Club yet.  Combat Hospital was on ABC this summer (although I think it's cancelled now) and was pretty good.  Yes, SYTYCD ended in August and I have still not watched the last 5 episodes.  Whoops!

I like to record movies on HBO, but hardly ever get the time to watch them.  Those two episodes of Today are from The Royal Wedding, and yes, I still have the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on here from last year.  But I was there!  I have to see if I made it on TV!

What do you DVR?  Do you get behind like I do?

  1. My DVR has become one of my best friends! I just love reality TV like Mob Wives and working late at DISH, I often miss my shows. Sometimes I do find it hard to catch up and I hated having to delete recordings. My oldest daughter and my husband would delete each others shows to make room for our own! It was annoying, lol. Recently DISH, introduced the Hopper and this DVR has the biggest DVR recording space ever. So I can’t wait to get this DVR in my home, we won’t have to delete recordings anymore. This DVR truly allows you to have DVR functions in every room of your house. My favorite feature is the remote finder, since we are always losing the remote. This DVR would work perfectly in my home.
