31 Days of Anti-Laziness: Necklace Hooks

Sunday, October 16, 2011

Hi guys!  Welcome to Day 16 (!) of...

For the longest time, I've been trying to come up with some sort of solution for storing my necklaces. Steven bought me a nice jewelry box probably 5 or 6 years ago and it has been fine, for the most part.

The biggest problem was storing my necklaces...

Why in the world would a jewelry box manufacturer place the hooks for necklaces this low?  Look at all that wasted space up there!  It just doesn't work.

So I set out to find a solution.  I didn't really want them in plain sight.  I wanted them accessible, but out of the way.  Enter our linen closet door...

Yes, this will do nicely.

Measure, measure, measure...

Grab some of these nifty things (pack of 18 at Walmart = $7.47)...

...stick 'em on...

...hang 'em up!

Perfect.

P.S. After I put these up the other night, Steven opened the door to get a towel and he almost jumped out of his skin because he thought every thing in the whole closet was collapsing on top of him.  My necklaces really don't make that much noise and aren't obtrusive at all, but I guess if you're not expecting a little clanging, it can cause you quite a shock.
