Winter Wonderland Tablescape

Wednesday, November 30, 2011

Every Christmas season, I start leaning more and more toward natural, rustic decor and drift further away from glitzy reds and greens.  This year is no exception.  Maybe it comes with age or maybe my tastes are just changing, but each year, I crave more simplicity and elegance.

So without further ado, my Christmas tablescape.

We are not hosting any sort of gathering at our house this season, so I didn't want to bog down the table with place settings (did I mention I'm into simplicity?).

I cut some branches from the leland cypresses that run along our property line and stuck them in a new vase from TJ Maxx, along with some faux berry stems I've had forever.

I'm pretty sure I saw this idea on Pinterest.  Inverted goblets are turned into cloches for a wintry scene.

I picked up the deer at Hobby Lobby and painted them gold.  It was a sad moment because they were so adorable before, but it had to be done.

I love this buck.  He will definitely find a place somewhere after the holidays have come and gone.
