Home Goals 2012

Monday, January 9, 2012

Hey y'all!  I thought I would participate in Nester's 2nd Annual Home Goals Link Party today, not only to get my ideas out in writing, but also to serve as a reminder come next January when I'm making goals for 2013 (if the world doesn't end in December... come on, do any of you believe those Mayans?).

So here they are, my top 10 home goals for 2012:

Numero uno, top priority:  FINISH CRAFT ROOM

It's coming along slowly but surely and I hope to have some progress to show you guys soon.  Until then, here's a photo to whet your appetite.

Two: Get bookshelves so that all of our books will no longer reside in two bankers boxes.

3) Remember the great duvet search?  Finish search and buy one of said duvets.

Quatro: Install engineered hardwoods in the basement.

5 - Replace address plaque.

See the 7? It looks all tarnished and gross, and has been like that since the day we moved in.

Six: Replace old tube TV and armoire in our bedroom with a flat screen and some sort of dresser.

It just takes up too much room and has really started bothering me lately.

7) Hang. More. Photos/Artwork.  i.e. Don't be afraid of making the wrong choice and having excess nail holes in the wall... after all, that's what they make spackle for!

Ocho:  Finally start and finish laundry closet makeover.  Yeah, I've been planning it since last February but just haven't gotten around to it.  Every time I open up those bi-fold doors, I wonder when the motivation will strike to just get it done.  I'm thinking soon.  Very soon.

What a hot mess.

Nine - Frame mirror in master bathroom.

Two words: builder grade.

10:  Create better storage in the garage and storage room.  We desperately need some of those racks that hang from the ceiling, not to mention shelves, bike hooks, etc etc.

Believe it or not, this is what it looks like when it's semi-organized.

So that's what I'm thinking for 2012.  Attainable?  We'll see.
