Three Takes on the Chambray Shirt

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

Last night, Steven and I booked a vacation for May.  Wanna know where we're going?  Of course you do!

HAWAII, BABY!

We honeymooned in Maui and loved it, so ever since we've been saving up our Marriott rewards and our US Airways dividend miles in preparation for a return visit.  Wanna know how much our 7 day/6 night trip is going to cost us?  Of course you do!

$200.

Yes, you read that right.  $10 for each of our plane tickets plus a $30/night resort fee.  I  mean, how could we not go?

So, the first thing I thought about after we booked was the lack of island-appropriate attire in my wardrobe.  Have any of you been on Polyvore?  I've looked at many an outfit on there, but just signed up for an account of my own and quickly got to making some outfit combinations.  Whadya know, but I have a thing for the chambray shirt.  It showed up in all three of these outfits (this particular one is $55 at J. Crew and I think I might just be in love with it).

I love this dress and thought this look would be so cute for a luau.  I'm loving the rosy jewelry and those wedges (Sperrys!), I die.

This one is really versatile, I think.  I can see myself having lunch at a cute little outdoor cafe or strolling through some cute shops.

This one would be great for sight seeing or just lounging around the hotel.  I'm usually not all that into shorts, but we're going to Hawaii - did you know it gets hot there?  Well, it does.  I think these yellow ones are perf.  I've been anti gold jewelry for the longest time, but lately I'm finding myself drawn to it again.  These dressy flip flops are fab too.

So what's your verdict on the chambray shirt?  Love it or hate it?  Personally, I can't get enough.
