Color Crushing: Coral and Gray

Tuesday, April 3, 2012

Hello hello!  Something exciting is happening at our house today!  Ahh, I can't wait to tell you!  I don't know when it will be finished, though, so you may have to hold your horses for a little while. But believe me, it's exciting.  Well, don't get your hopes up too much because it may be one of those things that is more is exciting to me than it is to you, but I hope not!  Hint: a little bit of paint and a whole lotta organization!  Or maybe a whole lotta paint and a little bit of organization?  Not sure yet, but I'll let you know!

Now, for the reason you're all here today!  If you follow me on Pinterest (seriously, follow me!), then you may have seen some pins this morning that all revolve around my two favorite colors right now (besides chartreuse, of course), coral and gray!

If you feel so inclined to pin any of the images below, please follow the links back to the original source and pin from there.  No one wants to come across a pin and wonder what the rest of the room looks like, only to click on the link and be led back here.  Thanks a million!

Is this coral headboard with white piping and buttons just to die for, or what?  The gray walls and white bedding are the perfect compliment to such a bold statement.

Light coral and gray walls for a nursery?  So beautifully girly.

How about a wall of gray chevrons with a coral pop?  I'm seriously loving this idea.  Maybe not chevron (does anyone else think that we'll all be sick to death of chevron in a year?), but this would be equally cool with stripes.

This gray and coral hutch is almost too beautiful for words.

I'm loving this monochromatic color scheme with only a few hints of coral.  If you tire of coral in the future, you could easily switch your shades, pillows and throw for a different color.  I love decor that can be easily switched to suit our ever-changing personal styles.

While I'm totally digging the gray and coral in this bedroom, what is most striking to me is the high chair rail that separates what is surely a vaulted ceiling from the lower half of the room.  It grounds the space, not to mention what an easier task painting must have been!

Not only do I love coral and gray interiors, but it works in fashion as well.

That scarf is just the hint of color this outfit needed.

Coral tank and flats with gray and white striped cardi, accented by a turquoise bracelet... perfection.

Oh, and this necklace is so lovely.  I think turquoise is the perfect compliment to coral and gray.

I remember seeing this bathroom in Martha, but when I came across it again today, I fell in love with it all over again.  Again with the coral, gray and turquoise.  Hmm... floor to ceiling beadboard, you have inspired me!

Who wouldn't love to receive a box full of coral and gray ribbon and embroidery floss?  I know I would!

These dark gray sofas with bright punchy walls just say glamour to me!

Yet another nursery (no I'm not dishing out hints).  I'm pretty sure the gray on these walls is the perfect shade.  Oh, and I loooove the curtains, even if they are a little high-water-ish.  (Make your curtains touch the floor people!)

I don't regret having a fall wedding with a fall color palette, but if I had seen these coral and gray invitations, I may have just changed my mind.

So, what do you think?  Do you love coral and gray together as much as I do?  What colors are you crushing on lately?

  1. I'm loving these colors! I've been in a serious Tiffany Blue phase for a while, but I'm also into navy with orange, gray and yellow, and Im thinking of lime, gold and white...
