Just a quick update

Hey guys and happy Friday!

Sorry for the lack of posts this week... I've started multiple projects and they just haven't been turning out the way I hoped (bummer) so I'm a little lacking in material for the ol' bloggity blog.  Do you ever have weeks like that?  Where nothing turns out like you want it to?  Annoying.

In other news, the painters finally finished painting our garage yesterday.  Did I tell you we were having our garage painted?  Well, we did.  It looks so good.  I don't know why we waited nearly five years to do it!  Probably because it was such a big undertaking.  We had to clear out the garage, then the painters had to sand down the gobs of drywall mud that the builder had slapped up there, then do another layer of mud, then paint the ceiling and walls.  That's why we didn't attempt this one ourselves.  We're no drywall experts.  But honestly, our garage looks 10 times bigger now!  But that might be because we haven't put anything back in there yet.  We're hoping to get some hooks and other organizational things before we bring anything back in, so right now, it's all chillin' in a heap in our storage room.  Three words:  major disaster area.

I promise to share about all that in a few weeks, once we get back from our big trip to the Aloha State!  We're in savings mode for the next couple of weeks in preparation, so we're going to wait until May to get all of the organizational goodies we need for the garage.

I have a couple of projects brewing, one being two fully upholstered chairs (i.e. not just the seat but the back is upholstered too) that I bought off Craigslist for $10 each.  They are a lovely (not) green velvet and are in need of some repair.  Honestly, I've never undertaken a task like that before, and I'm a little nervous to get started on them.  They are so cute though and were such a steal!  I sorta kinda have an idea of how I want them to look, but I really don't know if I can pull it off.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed, and if they turn out to be a disaster, at least they were only $20.

Okay, I'm off to start my weekend... here's hoping next week goes according to plan!
