Christmas Card 2012

Merry Christmas Eve!  I can hardly believe Christmas is tomorrow - geesh!

I was a Christmas Card slacker this year.  Last year, I took our photo in early November and mailed the cards out on Black Friday.  This year, it seemed we never had time to take our photo, so we did it in a rush one Sunday afternoon in early December.

I had no plans for the photo shoot, other than heading out to the backyard with my camera and tripod.  We tried a variety of things, such as...

Piggyback ride...

High five...

Ho Ho Ho...

Jersey girl attitude...

And finally narrowed it down to these two, which I applied a retro Photoshop action to for this vintage effect.

I loved the brick wall background of this one (the side of our house, obvs), but I wasn't 100% sold on the pose.

Finally, we chose this one as the winner!  I love the windblown look of my hair, the greenery in the background, and the fact that we're both turned a little so our faces are more in profile.  Doesn't everyone look better in profile?

And the final product!

I had the photos printed at Sam's Club, then I just glued them to these blank cards (picked up at Michaels) that I stamped with silver circles and a Merry Christmas stamp I've had forever.

I hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas!  We're leaving on the 26th to head down to DISNEY WORLD to ring in the new year!!  So, I'll see you in 2013!
