52 hand lettered: one thing to do more often

Monday, January 19, 2015

Miranti, of Pen and Peplum, started an initiative for 2015 entitled The 52 Hand-Lettered Project.  The goal?  To do one hand-lettered piece a week that fits a prompt.  I thought I would join in when I can.  Because it's fun and it gives me an excuse to do a little sketching.

This week's prompt was "one thing to do more often."

I have a hard time not being busy.  It's always go go go and a to-do list a mile long and sometimes I wish I could just… chill.  It's okay if the laundry isn't folded or the dishes aren't put away.  I'm busily planning Sydney's first birthday party (it is going to be so cute, ohmygosh) so that's on my brain constantly, but I'm going to make a concerted effort this week to just be chill.  Go with the flow.  I'm looking forward to the weekend and spending all day Saturday at home.  Maybe working on a project for the almost-1-year-old's party, and maybe organizing under the sink, and okay, maybe that doesn't sound very "chill," but the idea of not washing my hair all day and maybe not even changing my clothes until it's time to go to bed (because wearing the same clothes to bed, then wearing them all day and into bed again is just gross) sounds just glorious.

I included Mickey in the photo above because he's cute and I love him, and it doesn't make any sense, but isn't he adorable?
