let's get framing.

Yep, as in basement walls.

Last night, we went out to the land to check on the progress and it was SO FUN seeing actual ROOMS with real-life WALLS. (Sidenote: I'm going to stop calling it "the land" and start calling it "the house."  I've decided.)

S2 was having a blast walking around and through the studs.  Seriously, we were able to have a conversation while she was entertaining herself.  Y'all, this never happens.  Does that mean our girl is growing up or she's just as excited about the house as we are?  Either way, I'll take it.

(Don't tell her I posted pics of her in her PJs on the internet.  She'll never forgive me.)

^ Here she's walking through the walls of her future bathroom.  This is the toilet/shower part of the jack-and-jill in the basement.

It's weird seeing the floor plans "to scale" for the first time.  The media room seems smaller than we thought while the bedroom closets seem massive!  Also, I can literally stand up inside the window casings.  We are going to have gloriously huge windows and I'm so excited about it!!

Also, this was the first time I'd been out to the land er, the house this late so I finally got confirmation that the sun does indeed, set to the west.  Which is thankfully on the garage side of the house and not on the back of the house with the aforementioned glorious windows.  Hallelujah!

I hope you all are having a wonderful week!  I'll be back on Friday with another 5-minute DIY.  This one took a little longer than 5 minutes, but it's a mindless task you can do while watching TV, so it seems to go by fast.  Until then, friends!
