the kitchen.

No, not the talk show on Food Network.  Although, if you've ever watched it, you've surely noticed the fab cutting boards painted with chalkboard paint?!  I've already decided I must do that somewhere.

See there in the corner?  Love it.

Anyway, this post is not about any actual cooking, although I'm already looking forward to the day when I have tons of glorious counter space!  Try making bacon-wrapped cocktail wieners, Rice Krispy Treats and two different kinds of hamburgers for a tailgate in a tiny apartment kitchen.  I had to bring out the step stool just to have somewhere to set the dirty dishes.  It wasn't pretty.

I digress again.

Onto the progress of our kitchen!  (Click here to see the plans.)

The sink will be underneath the {small} middle window above, the range will be where the white pieces of paper are on the studs, and see our island marked there in the middle of the floor?

Let's take a closer look...

So exciting!

Insulation going in….

…then covered with drywall.  Messy...

…and clean.

It's really hard to take a decent photo of a window, but you can kind of see the grid detail in the kitchen windows here.  No grid in the bottom pane, so as not to obstruct my view. :)

I haven't really taken any photos of the other wall of the kitchen (where the fridge and built-in desk will be) because as you can probably tell, I'm just obsessed with all the windows.  I'll try to do that soon, and include the butler's pantry as well.

Babies and drywall dust are a messy, disastrous combination.  Especially for a baby who doesn't want her hands to be dirty.  Oh well, her cuteness makes up for her high maintenance.
