s2's room: mood board

Friday, October 23, 2015

Hi and happy Friday to you!  Cheers to the weekend!

While I'm on the topic of mood boards, I thought I'd share the starting point for S2's room.  I call this a starting point because we plan on using most of what she had in her nursery, but we switched it up with a different wall color (or colors, hint hint) and she has her own bathroom and closet which we have to consider as well.  I'm still not sure how her furniture will be arranged and I know we'll have a LOT more wall to fill as well as cute toys to incorporate (that she may or may not be getting for Christmas this year).  So take this for what it is: a general color scheme/direction.

city prints // ppg victory blue // ppg candy mix // shower curtain // growth chart - we will diy // closet light

I used the lovely Lily Pulitzer shower curtain as my jumping off point for the color scheme.  I've always loved pink and navy together, and mixed with the shower curtain, I think it will be the perfect preppy room for my princess.

We are still figuring out blinds/shades/curtains etc. for the house.  Those types of things add up quickly, but the bedrooms will definitely be at the top of the priority list.  We don't want our girl waking up with the sun, so blackout shades will be important.  I love the ones from Smith & Noble but our budget will determine which way we go.  Does anyone have a source for fabulous (and cheap) shades?

The city prints are a carryover from her nursery and I still love them.  I think they'll look great with the new wall colors.

In other news, our kitchen cabinets are installed (ahhh!) and we're starting to see the finish line.  Al.most.there.
