Dream Home Daydream

Hello hello!  I hope this Wednesday finds you well.  I thought we’d taken a little stroll through my dream home daydreams today.  Come along, won’t you?

Number 1:  I want to live on the water.  Well, the hubs does and I go along with it because really, who doesn’t want to live on the water?

Number 2:  I must.have.shingle.siding.

Le sigh.

Gray siding + aqua front door + stone patio = perfect combination.

Number 3:  It would be a plus if my dream home had a barn-shaped roofline.

Oh, and if it came with a perfectly manicured garden, I wouldn’t complain.

Number 4:  In addition to the shingle siding and the barn-shaped roofline, it would also probably have a turret…

The outdoor fireplace on that front porch is fantastic.  Can’t you just imagine sitting there year-round, sipping some coffee or cocoa, and curling up with a good book?  Wowza.

Now this one has to be my favorite.  It’s smaller, with TWO turrets, a big front porch, and pitched rooflines.  Oh, and it’s on the water.  I don’t think it gets any better than that.

Number 5:  Moving past the exterior of the house, I’m sure the inside would have some sort of cool staircase.  I don’t know why, but I’m obsessed with unusual stairs.

See what they did there?  Spindle shapes created by the negative space between those flat boards.  Brillz.

The harder it is to get up and down them, the more likely I am to love them.

Reading nook on the landing… absolutely!

It’s a tunnel.  Under the stairs.  I die.

Whoever thought of this should get a Nobel Prize for space planning. #ihatewastedspace

We’re going to live on the water, so why not have boat cleat railings?

Number 6:  My dream home would not be complete without a laundry/mud room combination, seeing as how we have neither now.

Number 7:  Onto the kitchen.  It will have a farmhouse sink.
