Welcome to Day 4 of the 31 Days of Anti-Laziness! In case you’re just joining me, I’m participating in Nester‘s 31 Days of Change series and have challenged myself to banish my lazy ways and get some stuff done this October.
On the agenda for today: a fall craft! I’ve had Kate‘s link party on my calendar for weeks and I went through a few crafty ideas before I settled on old faithful: an owl. BUT! Not just an owl. A pumpkin owl. Say whaaa?
I had an unadorned faux pumpkin in my Halloween stash, and just happened to have some fallish colored felt on hand, so this project was FUH-REE! Wahoo!
I cut out paper templates for all the owl parts, traced them onto felt, and cut cut cut. Did I mention I hate cutting felt? Well, I do. But aside from that, this project went pretty fast. Probably an hour and half start to finish.
And here he is!
I’ll call him George. Doesn’t he look like a George?

How cute. My little ones have come to live closer to me after 10 years in Texas. The eldest was asking if i celebrate Halloween the other day and the eldests mum loves owls!! Pitty i dont have a faux pumpkin. Real ones this size are too expensive to buy for a craft project, but then again i guess we could dismantle then eat!!!
