Whether or not to send kids back to school has been a hot topic of discussion this year. 2020 is weird.
There is no RIGHT or WRONG answer. It’s all about what works for you and your family!
But whether your kids are going to in-person school part-time, doing an e-learning path or you are independently homeschooling them, I’ve put together a list of some things that will be super handy to have at your disposal at home!

Supplies for however you choose to school
Staying organized with bins and folders will be KEY to keeping your sanity!
Having a few manipulative and classroom-type things (like a calendar and a map!) will help your dining room, office, playroom, WHEREVER feel more like a classroom.
Having basic school supplies readily accessible sets you up for success. Don’t even bother buying pencils if they’re not Ticonderoga. You’re just wasting your money. 🙂 Also, for elementary-aged kids, extra erasers and twistable crayons are a MUST.
A label maker and an electric pencil sharpener will bring a little bit of happiness to your day, so just do yourself a favor. 🙂
I also love having a lap desk or some floor-sitting option available because young kids get so antsy sitting in a chair. If you can set them up on the floor to do a worksheet every now and then, the change of scenery might do them good.
The most pricey item on this list is a WiFi projector. There’s a $10 off coupon right now, making it around $90, but if you can swing it, being able to project YouTube videos or even Zoom meetings onto a wall will allow you to not all be huddled behind a computer screen all the time! S2’s kindergarten teacher assigned several educational YouTube videos to watch everyday, and it was just easier to play them on my phone so she could lay on the couch (or in the floor!) while watching them. This would give another option so we could watch them together while I multi-task with work on the computer.
