Before I get started today, I wanted to let you know that I’m over at Newlyweds on a Budget resurrecting an oldie but goody: my pop art canvases. Go say hi!
On Saturday, a friend and I hit up the Liberty Antiques Festival. (If you remember, I went last year as well.) Aside from the weather (it was chilly, overcast, and generally a blah day), we had a great time and brought home a couple of fun things.
I don’t know why, but I was drawn to burlap sacks all day. I really don’t know what I’ll do with them (recover a chair seat for a chair I don’t yet have, perhaps?), but I couldn’t pass up a good deal. Actually, I think I got ripped off on the one on the right at $8, but the one on the left was a steal at $3 and is my favorite of the two.
Just before we were getting ready to leave, we came across this cutie little school desk:
I asked the vendor how much, thinking it would be $70 or more, so when she said $30, I tried to contain myself and pretend that I was indifferent. I asked if she would take $25, and she did!
Doesn’t it make an adorable sewing table?
The top lifts up so I can store all my notions and whatever else I want in there. It also has a hole in the top where an ink well used to sit, which proves to be the perfect spot for my scissors.
Ack, I just love it!!
Have you found any cool things lately?
P.S. Come back tomorrow to see what I sent my April Package Pal!!

Great find with that desk (and way to get it for a steal)!! It does made a super adorable sewing desk. I recently got a few good finds myself including some old blue ball mason jars. I just LOVE those 🙂
That is adorable! And an amazing steal!!! Great find!
What an awesome find and how perfect for sewing!!
This room is beautiful!
