I have a super fun project to share with you guys today!
So, I bought a black Christmas tree for our first Christmas with our newly remodeled basement family room. I’m planning to put all of our Appalachian State ornaments on it, but I thought, in the meantime, it would make a fantastic HALLOWEEN tree. Only one problem – I didn’t have any Halloween ornaments.
No worries, I’ll just make my own. I shared all about the process to make the Mickey Jack-O-Lantern ornaments on Instagram Reels today, as well as a fun Reel of me putting the whole tree together. IG is a fun time, you should hang out over there. 😜
Basically, I bought a pack of orange paper dessert plates from Target, drew a Mickey pumpkin shape and then traced it onto the back of the plates and cut them all out. I added a cute Mickey face with a Sharpie and added a loop of black yarn (for hanging) with a piece of tape. Oh and I found the cute pennant bunting at Target and knew it would finish off my vision perfectly. And TA DA!

Oh and of course I had to be all EXTRA and add some vinyl bats (from Amazon, here).
I love anything Disney Halloween, and a Mickey Jack-O-Lantern is my favorite so this was the perfect spot to give a little nod to my old pal.
The tree skirt is just a blanket scarf (actually from Hobby Lobby I think, last year).
I’m also SO enjoying having the extra “mantel” space to decorate down here, so I gave it the Halloween treatment too.
In past years, I would decorate for fall in September, switch it out for Halloween in October and switch it back to fall in November. NO MORE, I tell ya! Now I have the upstairs for Fall, which can stay through November. And I’ll switch this space over from Halloween straight to Christmas. 🤗
