construction update: we have walls!

Sure, they’re of the cinder block variety, but whatevs.  

See that opening in the back wall?  Yeah, that’s a storm shelter.  Or a panic room.  Or a good hide-n-seek spot, behind all of our zombie apocalypse supplies.  It was going to be a dead space below the front porch, so we said let’s just frame out an opening, pour a concrete floor and have an extra storage area.  It’s super long and really narrow, but perfect for a few cases of water and some flash lights. 🙂

The basement floor was filled with gravel on Saturday, and the concrete is being poured later this week!  Woo hoo!
