Hi friends! If there’s only one thing you need to know about me, it’s this: seasonal decorating energizes me. You know how extroverts get their “energy” from being around people, and introverts get their energy from within? Well, I get my energy from exerting my creativity on my house. That’s why January-March is so draining for me. Not only does it get dark at 4:30 p.m. 🙄 but there’s nothing to decorate for! I’m reminded every fall how truly fulfilling it and re-energizing it is for me to bring out the decor bins and get my house ready for fall and then Christmas.
Anyway, I digress. I didn’t start this post thinking it was going to be a deep self-reflection. 😆
Let’s take a peek at my Halloween decor! I dedicate this space (our basement family room) to Halloween while the rest of the house is more generic fall.

I posted about my Mickey Halloween Tree last year, and I loved it so much that I just 100% recreated it this year! The white jack-o-“lanterns” 😆 are a new addition, and I shared the simple how-to on Instagram Reels (basically the how-to is: buy a multi-pack of white paper lanterns on Amazon, draw faces with Sharpie). I love how they look all lined up on the floor.

**do you see me in the TV reflection? I’ll call that the spooky factor for this post**

Ideally I would probably add more bats, but you know, whatev. I was tired. 🤪

I feel like Halloween is creeping up on Christmas in the popularity contest of holidays. There’s just something about fall and Halloween that I just love SO MUCH. Halloween and Thanksgiving are holidays without much expectation – just fun and family. Christmas has all the pressure and work and just wears me out. I mean, I do appreciate the tunes and the movies and the cozy socks but otherwise, give me fall leaves and pumpkins please! 😉

What’s your favorite holiday?!
